Dear Parishioners and Friends,

Today the Church celebrates Tuesday of the Seventeenth Week in Ordinary Time.  The link to Mass can be found here. Today's Mass.

The Church in the United States also honors the memory of Blessed Stanley Rother, a modern-day martyr who was born in Oklahoma in 1963.  Please take time to read about this martyr for the faith:  Blessed Stanley Rother

Blessed Stanley, pray for us!

I have received several requests to include Mark Baalman in our prayers for the sick.  Mark is from Calhoun County: a husband, father of three and grandfather of one.  Please offer prayers for his healing and strength for his family.

By now, you should have received your August packet of Church contribution envelopes.  You will notice a few changes.  The School “Endowment” envelope is now “St. Ambrose School”. If you wish to contribute to the St. Ambrose Education Endowment, please mark your donations accordingly.  Otherwise the “St. Ambrose School” donation will assist with the current operation of our parish school.  You will also notice an envelope for “St. Ambrose Community Outreach”.  These funds will be distributed to those who come to our parish in need by the St. Ambrose Community Outreach group (formerly St. Vincent de Paul). You may also continue to use the donation boxes in Church for this purpose.  There is also an envelope for the “Assumption of Mary Offering”.  The Assumption of Mary is a Holy Day of Obligation in the United States. However, due to the dispensation during the COVID-19 pandemic, the obligation is lifted AND because the Holy Day falls on a Saturday, the obligation would be lifted anyway.  St. Ambrose will offer a Mass for the Assumption of Mary on Friday evening, August 14 at 7:00 p.m.

May God bless your day!  Please be safe and pray for those who are suffering with the COVID-19 virus.  Pray also that our country will come together in mutual respect regarding racism, differing political views, and best practices for combatting the COVID-19 virus.
