MAP Testing

At St. Ambrose Catholic School, students in grades 3-8 complete the MAP test (Measure of Academic Progress) twice a year in the Fall and Spring. In the Diocese of Springfield, schools are required to test only once a year in the Spring, but most schools choose to complete the second test in the Fall. Students are tested in Reading, Math, Science, and Language Usage.

FALL 2024 MAP RESULTS

The group results are in for the Fall 2024 MAP testing in November and our test scores were among the highest in the Diocese! Each of the classes that tested (3-8 grade), exceeded national averages on all 4 tests (Math, Reading, Language Usage, & Science). More significantly, each of the classes (3-8 grade) exceeded the Diocesan averages on all 4 tests! Given our extremely positive test results from Fall 2023 and continuing through Fall 2024, St. Ambrose has scored among the highest in the Diocese in the last 3 cycles of MAP testing!

The first button directs you to summaries by discipline displaying where each of our classes fell in national percentile achievement rankings for each of the 4 tests. Please remember national percentile rankings show where a class or individual is in comparison to the nation. A class or individual in the 55th percentile scored better than 54 percent of those classes or individuals that completed testing.

The next several buttons direct you to each Grade Level where results are broken down by test subject. With these scores you will see a series of data points listed. The first shows the number of students that completed the test. The next score shows “Mean RIT Score,” this is our St. Ambrose average for that grade level. You will also see the “District Grade Level Mean,” this is the average score for that grade level in the Springfield Diocese. Additionally you will see the “Grade Level Mean,” this is the average for the nation.
